The nearest book to me was an Evangelion manga book.. they don't even have page numbers.. whatever.. I'll count..

Shinji: I... I'm... I'm going to ride in this thing... To fight that monster we saw... y-you... You're kidding right?! There's no WAY I can do something like that!

Gendo: Just accept this explanation. You're the best candidate we have. No-- you're the ONLY candidate we have.

Shinji: But why ME?! It doesn't make sense!

Gendo: You don't need to understand-- just get inside!

Shinji: NO! What are you talking about?! How do you expect me to... Is this what you called me here for?! To order me to my death?! You ignored me, you walked out on me-and now you just want me to do as you SAY?!

Gendo: If you don't do as I say, all of humanity will perish. At this moment, the existence of the human race rests on your shoulders.

Shinji: NO!! No matter what you say-- I won't do it!

That's great, I just happen to end up on the page where we see Shinji's total coward-ass side, in fact, what other side is there? I had to get the whole thing in there, just to show what a dick Shinji is.. fucking kid..
